The Environmental Science Programs offers the following undergraduate and postgraduate research-oriented and taught degree programs:
   
BSc in Environmental Science

The Program intends to provide students with a solid training in environmental science with a special focus in ecosystems. It emphasizes on the basic understanding of the environment as an integrated system which encompasses factors involving air, land and water, as well as natural processes and human activities.
 
     
Minor Program in Environmental Science

The Minor Program is designed to provide students with a broad overview on environmental science and conservation. Students under the School of Science with an overall CGA 1.85 or above may enroll in this Minor Program.
 
     
MPhil/PhD in Atmospheric Environmental Science

The Master of Philosophy (MPhil) program aims to train postgraduate students to conduct independent research in Atmospheric Environmental Science. The PhD program aims to train qualified PhD students in original research in Atmospheric Environmental Science and to cultivate independent and innovative thinking that is essential for a successful research career in environmental science. The program usually takes four to five years of full-time study to complete. Students are expected to conduct thesis research, undertake coursework, attend and present research seminars. They must also pass a qualifying examination and successful defense of a thesis is required.
 
     
MPhil/PhD in Marine Environmental Science

SZU-HKUST Joint PhD Program in Marine Environmental Science

The Joint PhD program offers students the opportunities to benefit from shared research excellence in Marine Environmental Science between Hong Kong University of Science and Technology (“HKUST”) and Shenzhen University (“SZU”). The program is an interdisciplinary and collaborative program which aims to cultivate outstanding science and technology talents to help build the sustainable economic development for China. Upon successful completion of the program, students will receive certificate from SZU and degree certificate from HKUST, with a special note to show that the degree was conferred through a joint program.
 
     
MSc in Environmental Health and Safety

The Master (MSc) program will offer courses to the students who are interested in environmental health and safety, and will allow the students to develop expertise in this area. Students are required to complete at least 30 credits of coursework, with at least 18 credits of foundation courses.
